On Thursday 1st November, my Scottish Conservative Colleagues and I held the Scottish Government to account over their lack of information and continued delays regarding the AWPR. This is an ongoing issue and myself, Peter Chapman and Liam Kerr wanted clarity for our North-East constituents. Unfortunately, yet again the Government failed to provide concise answers or take accountability for the impact this is having on residents.
In particular, I was curious as to why issues which arose some time ago are continuing to cause issues for my Aberdeenshire-West constituents. I asked Cabinet Secretary, Michael Matheson, to justify why my constituents where continuing to ask me for help on issues which were flagged previously, and moreover, I asked the government to ensure the proper and appropriate compensation would be offered to those whose homes and land have been impacted by the AWPR and the ongoing delays.
I will continue to support my constituents the best I can, holding the SNP to account and working hard to ensure the repercussions of the AWPR on constituents are minimal. You can watch the full ministerial statement here and my question here.
