On Monday I held a surgery in Westhill, before visiting local charity SensationALL – it was great to meet with constituents to discuss and take forth their concerns. The staff, facilities and support at SensationALL are a great resource for all those who benefit and highlight the great work being carried out in our local community.
On Tuesday morning, I opened the Future Oil & Gas Aberdeen Conference, discussing the recent successes within the industry, stressing that we need to use these to springboard a continuation of improvements and innovation in the Oil and Gas industry. In the evening I attended the Warmworks reception, discussing the many positives of a more energy efficient society.
On Wednesday morning, I attended the Finance and Constitution Committee. In the afternoon I spoke in the Liberal Democrat debate on the SNP’s Growth Commission Report. I spoke about the real issues facing the Scottish people, and specifically those in my constituency of Aberdeenshire West, and highlighted the SNPs ignorance to address many of these. You can watch my speech here.
On Thursday, I met with Scottish Power Renewables to discuss the importance of Onshore Wind to a more energy efficient future for Scotland. Additionally, I spoke with Visit Scotland as they promoted the ‘Coo-Vans’ here at Holyrood, about their efforts to make information about Scotland more accessible as they tour Scotland this Summer.
On Friday, I met with constituents in Huntly and Lumsden before visiting the Scottish Sculpture Workshop. This workshop promotes the rural nature of Aberdeenshire through art and sculpting, and is a great facility available in Huntly.
