As the Scottish Environment LINK Species Champion for red squirrels I’m excited to raise awareness for Red Squirrel Week.
This week, Saving Scotland's Red Squirrels are encouraging people to take part in their 6th annual Great Scottish Squirrel Survey! Share your pictures to report your sightings of both red and grey squirrels this week. This data will improve understanding of how the squirrel populations are changing over time, and will also help with conservation action, since red squirrels are a threatened species. Last year, over 1,300 people reported more than 2,000 squirrel sightings in one week - let’s see if we can top that number this year!
