On Monday I met with Ben Sinclair, a local entrepreneur providing work for the disabled community at Craft Work in Aboyne.
On Tuesday I was delighted to welcome Energy Minister Jesse Norman to Aberdeen. It was great to have the opportunity to speak with him alongside Deirdre Michie from Oil and Gas UK, on issues surrounding the oil and gas industry across the UK as well as particular concerns in the North East. After a quick rush back to Holyrood for voting, I also attended two drop-in sessions from Construction: A Career Like No Other and JDRF as well as a Carbon Trust Briefing.
Wednesday I met with Eddie Holmes to discuss options for decommissioning in the North Sea. In the evening, I attended a meeting with the Institution of Engineering and Technology: The Changing Face of Scotland’s Power Generation.
On Thursday I met with Clare Symonds from Planning Democracy to discuss the issues surrounding planning reform in Scotland. I also attended a reception held by RES discussing the future for onshore wind in Scotland and a meeting for the Scottish Future Trust.
Friday I held a joint surgery in Thainstone with Peter Chapman MSP and attended the Bright Ideas Challenge and Girls in Energy conference.
