09/01 This Week In Parliament

On Monday I met with Jo Robinson, the Visit Scotland Regional Director for Aberdeenshire, to discuss growing tourism in the region.

On Tuesday I attended a meeting of the Environment, Climate Change, and Land Reform Committee, where I pushed for answers about wildlife crime regarding the freshwater pearl mussel, a rare and disproportionately impacted species. A video of the question and responses can be found here.

On Wednesday I had the pleasure of visiting Torness Nuclear Power Plant with Maurice Golden MSP. Amazing to see the energy diversity in Scotland and tour a facility that provides electricity to two million homes.

Back at Holyrood I met with Gavin Donoghue and Rachel Money from Scottish Renewables regarding wave and tidal sectors and the issue of Remote Island Contracts for Difference.

On Thursday I met with CircoSense Limited and several groups of advocates for windfarm development on the Isle of Lewis. Both had great ideas for solutions to lower our carbon emissions.

On Friday I held a surgery in Banchory.
