On Monday I went to Aboyne to celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week. I was able to meet with several young people pursuing apprenticeships and to gain more information about this valuable but often overlooked career path. I also visited Albyn School where I spoke about my role in parliament and was asked a series of questions by pupils, staff and teachers.
On Tuesday I attended a meeting of the Environment, Climate Change, and Land Reform Committee.
In the chamber, I attended a Ministerial Statement regarding Part 4 And Part 5 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act. I later spoke at the debate celebrating International Women’s Day. My speech can be found here.
In the evening, I attended a Cross Party Group regarding rural policy.
On Wednesday I visited the INEOS site in Grangemouth with Maurice Golden MSP. Grangemouth is the largest manufacturing facility by product volume owned by INEOS and the only crude oil refinery in Scotland, and it was a pleasure to learn about the innovations taking place at the site.
In the evening, I attended a reception for the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal and a dinner hosted by Keeping Scotland Warm.
On Thursday I meet with Karen Ramoo, a policy officer for Scottish Land and Estates. After First Ministers' Question, I attended an Earth Hour event on behalf of WWF Scotland. Earth Hour 2017 is on Saturday March 25 at 8.30pm and I encourage you to sign up here if interested.
On Friday I held a surgery in Banchory in the morning and visited the Aberdeenshire South Food Bank in the afternoon.
